It is no secret that a higher education can open the doors of opportunity. The Thurston Memorial Scholarship was born out of a commitment to lend a hand of support to our future young leaders. To lend a hand of financial support to assist our young people in furthering their education. With the coast of a higher education skyrocketing each, we realize that every little penny helps.
In the last four years the Thurston Memorial Outreach Scholarship has awarded over $9,000 in scholarship money to deserving young people.

Investing in Action!

It is no secret that pursuing education beyond high school is critical to our community and country’s success. It is also no secret that the cost of attending school beyond high school is sky rocketing. We at Thurston Memorial Outreach Ministries want to help and we are hoping you can help us.
For the last two years, the Thurston Memorial Outreach Ministries has been awarding two deserving young people nominal scholarships to assist with college expenses. We would love to not only continue this program, but also expand and increase the amount awarded. Whereas the scholarships awarded so far have been limited to those attending the church that houses Thurston Memorial Outreach Ministries, we are in the process of expanding the scholarship to benefit the greater Bushwick and Bedford-Stuyvesant communities. Consequently, we are in need of financial assistance.
Past awards have totaled over $3,000 and we want nothing more than to double or even triple that amount for this year and the years to come. Please visit our donate page to help. Every dollar donated constitutes an investment in our future.
